Full explanation:- apps made on Google Development Kit for Android 6 (SDK 23 - recommended by Google) requires LOCATION- apps made on older development kit (for example Android 5 - SDK 22) are still functional in compatibility mode without LOCATION need (mostly)- google play blocks any downgrade for apps made on SDK 23 to lower (SDK 22)- original app (functionality for now very same) made on recommended SDK 23 with 1M+ downloads here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.webprovider.wifianalyzer- this app was published just because of lack of support from Google - this is only way (create new app) told me by Google support- both version of this one app will remain active - I don't know how long will be this "older SDK" version works, could be years
